Liquid Dex / Arimidex 30mL 1mg/mL (Anastrozole)
Liquid Dex (Anastrozole) is the aromatase inhibitor of choice. The drug is appropriately used in research when using substantial amounts of aromatizing agents, or when one is prone to gynecomastia and using moderate amounts of such agents. As an aromatase inhibitor, Liquid Dex’s mechanism of action — blocking conversion of aromatizable agents to estrogen — is in contrast to the mechanism of action of anti-estrogens such as Liquid Clomi (Clomid) or Liquid Tamox, which in our research blocks estrogen receptors in some tissues, and activate estrogen receptors in others.
Anastrozole belongs to a class of compounds known as aromatase inhibitors (AIs). An enzyme known as aromatase is responsible in the human body for producing estrogen by converting androgens into estrogen. Aromatase inhibitors like Anastrozole prevent aromatase from fulfilling that role by binding to it and rendering it inactive. AIs fall into two categories: reversible (such as letrozole and Anastrozole ) and irreversible; irreversible AIs permanently bind to the circulating aromatase complex.
